Mursely Swallows 7 - 3 Milton Keynes Blades
Seventh placed Swallows hosted tenth placed Blades, on the back of their first win of the season the previous week, and made it two in a row, although were given a good fight by Blades. Mursley's star player, for the second week running, was Roger Shelton, who collected another maximum (also including the doubles with Martin Johnson), although it was close in the fifth for Roger against both Mark Thomas and Bill Tyler. Martin chipped in with wins against Bill Tyler in a tight four leg encounter and against Brian Evans, but in a topsy turvy set against Mark Thomas, where no leg was closer than 11-7, lost out in the final leg to Mark's serving and power hitting (going to five seems to be becoming a habit for Martin, having 'gone the distance' nine times so far, in singles). Peter Sear, short of sleep after being just back from holiday, managed to edge out Brian, but was 'not at the races' aginst Mark or Bill. The win moves Swallows up to sixth place, just ahead of club mates, Hawks, who just lost out 6-4 to Primes on the next table. Next up for Swallows will be Tornadoes, who are one place and one point ahead of them.
