Mursley Swallows 5 - 5 Milton Keynes Classics
A new season, but a similar result to last season between these two teams! Swallows had their second close match of the season, improving on last week's narrow loss, to record a 5-5 draw against Classics.
Roger Shelton got the home team off to a good start, with a four games win over Nick Markham and captain Peter Sear added to the lead with a straight games win against Barbara Peters. Masoud Nassor pulled one back for Classics, beating Martin Johnson in three games, but the home doubles pairing of Peter and Roger confortbaly won the double, three staright, against Masoud and Nick, to put the home team 3-1 up. Back came Classics, as Nick edged out Peter at 11-9 in the decider, and then Masoud even the scores up as he dispatched Roger in three games. Martin came from 1-0 and 2-1 down against Barbara to win in five, but Masoud again evened things up at 4-4, as he completed his maximum, with another three straight games win over Peter. Martin edged out Nick, but honours remained even, as Barbara won the final set of the night against Roger, to secure the draw. I get the feeling that the Division may be fairly close, this season, with not much to choose between several teams, but .. of course, time will tell.
