Premier Div Week 3
WARRIORS MARCH TO TOP SPOT
Greenleys Warriors take over pole position after a resounding 9-1 victory in their derby clash with club-mates Glory. Hat-tricks from new signings Chandupa Alahakoon and Adrian Piotrowski plus a brace by Darren Ward sealed a win that puts Warriors 3 points clear of the field. Iain Lindsay scores the lone Glory point and Jacob Midson and Ian Brown also played.
Greenleys Monarchs struggled to a 6-4 win over a 2-man Leighton Buzzard Generations, who do not travel well. Only 3 âon the tableâ wins for the home boys here with Tomek Nowakowski beating both Tim Cheek and Alex Du Noyer in straight games and Martin Hall overcoming Tim in 5 games. Dave Beddall was the other Monarch.
A scrap at the bottom end of the table saw a clash between the newly promoted sides, both already struggling this season. A 7-3 win here for Open University Primes over MK Topspin with a fine all-round performance from Andy Tan, Ning He and James Zeng. Stout resistance though provided by Topspin hat-trick boy Mal Hussain. Russell Penn and Mervyn Kelly were the other Topspinners.
Once again, only 3 matches played as the scheduled MK derby between Titans and Spinners has been re-arranged for October 8th.
