Brown turns back the clock to defy Glory’s whole team on Premier Debut
Welcome back to the number one source of entertainment for Milton Keynes and surrounding areas!
The newly crowned Premier League Champions, Greenleys Kings, had a shock transfer to the Milton Keynes Centre in a bid to keep the heating on this winter…..
So Nick Howard, Craig Brown, Guy Sparrow and the addition of Matt Horrocks are now the MK Titans.
The Titans returned to familiar ground to play unfamiliar opponents in Greenleys Glory.
Glory secured promotion from Division 1 on merit, and have added the sensational Ian Mead to their ranks.
Ian won 92% in Northampton Prem last season with his powerful 2 winged looping.
Joining Ian were familiar faces of Scott Dixon and Jacob Midson.
Jacob and Guy kicked things off, and despite Jacob taking the first, he was no match for the rejuvenated Sparrow who took the next 3 for the loss of just 12 points.
Nick and Ian took centre stage afterwards, and a caged opening set went to Ian, 12-10 and despite Howard dominating the 3rd to claw it back to 2-1, Mead never looked troubled in the 3-1 victory.
Brown had a more comfortable time against the mercurial Dixon as he ran out 3-0 victor, before partnering with Howard to take the first 2 sets in the doubles very comfortably.
Mead and Midson came roaring back to take it in 5 - A crucial win on the night.
Mead dispatched Sparrow in 3 quick ends before Craig overcame an inspired Midson in 4 tight ends (except for the 2nd where the Glory captain lost just 2 points!)
oward overcame the tricky Dixon in 4 and then Brown defied the odds to take down star man, Ian Mead in 5 pulsating ends.
Critics are saying it was the best hat trick of the entire 2023/24 season - Hard to argue with that.
Guy took down Scott in 3 whilst Howard beat Midson in 4.
From 3-3, Glory had a chance….. But the reigning champions turned on the flare to run out 7-3 winners.
