Van Hire run out of Vans as Kings seek an unlikely 3rd place in the league!
It’s a thankless task being a captain, and with Fabrice’s teammates giving him the run around this week, the Van Hire skipper could only muster himself and Paul Haigh for the evening.
Jordan Moss, Guy Sparrow and Nick Howard played hosts at Greenleys.
Paul and Jordan kicked things off, with the former dropping the first set before getting Van Hire on the board with a solid 3-1 win.
Nick took full advantage of a cold Fabrice in their clash, with the Kings captain taking the honours 3-0, before Paul took down Guy Sparrow in similar, quick fashion!
Jordan and Fabrice then played out the match of the night, with a back and forth tussle resulting in Moss coming from 2-1 behind to take the spoils.
Nick halted Pauls rampage in 3 comfortable sets before Guy made sure Fabrice was scoreless on the night with another quick 3.
Nick and Jordan dropped the first end to Paul and Fabrice, before showing all the razzle dazzle which has brought them many a mixed doubles title in the past, running out 3-1 winners.
Remarkably, the Kings are now sitting 4th in the table and only 5 points of Sasaki in 3rd.
A run of 5 wins in 6 matches has turned their season around, after sitting plum last at Christmas, with just a single win to their name.
Final Score:
Kings 8 - 2 Van Hire
