Individual perfection is over, but team perfection continues as Titans make it 8 from 8!
Passports - Check. Boarding Passes - Check. Overnight accommodation - Check. Coach Biao watching from the rafters - Check.
That can only mean one thing….. A trip to Wing to play Leighton Buzzard Generations.
Nick and Guy made the 70 mile round trip from Northampton, whilst Craig enjoyed the much shorter jaunt from MK.
Hosting the Titans was Hakan, Ben and Tim - All top 8 potential candidates on their day.
I’ll try and keep this brief as the match finished past 11 and the drive home was long and windy!
The Titans exploded out of the gates with the first 5 matches going the way of the MK League leaders.
Craig rattled past Ben in 4 and old foe, Tim, in a very comfortable 3, whilst also helping Howard to a 4 set Doubles win.
Nick picked up the prize scalp of Tim in straight sets to put the memory of his 4-0 loss in the summer league to bed.
Guy was sensational in his 3-2 win against an in form Hakan, and with those 5 wins, it was looking like a sober night for Leighton Buzzard.
However, Ben was superb in his 3-1 win against Sparrow and Hakan raced past Howard in the same score line to give LB an outside chance of a draw.
That all ended when Guy picked up his form to smash Cheek 3-0 and ensure the Titans run of 8 wins continued.
There was still a bit of drama left on what was already a very late night.
Hakan looked set for a 3-0 win over previously unbeaten Brown, for the Titan to come roaring back to take it to a 5th.
But unlike the first fixture, Hakan was not to be denied this time, and was good for the win in the end.
Ben almost continued the heroics against Howard. After dropping the first comfortably, he was in complete control for the next 2.5 ends with a huge lead in the 4th when leading 2-1.
Howard hung around long enough to claw his way back to a 5th, and just about kept the 2 point buffer to ensure the Titans went away with a valuable 7 points from an excellent Leighton Buzzard team.
