Milton Keynes Blades finally started with a full team, after playing their opening two matches a player short, and took on mid-table Mursley Hawks, but unfortunately were not able to finish with a full team, as Bill Tyler had to retire from his final two singles games, having aggravated a back issue in the doubles. However, he had managed to win his opening singles against Ian Spanswick, who was playing his first match of the season, but Bill lost out in the doubles with Mark Thomas, going down in straight games to Ian and Mick O'Mahoney. Mark certainly got his money's worth, going the full five games in all three of his singles, and winning all three at 11-9 in the decider, to extend the Hawks run of losses in a deciding leg to eight, with six of the eight by the minimum two points!! Mick, Ian and David Bartlett each won again Yi Tong Yee in the remaining singles, and with Mick & David getting a default win, it meant a first win of the season for Hawks, 6-4, but a third consecutive loss for Blades.
