Kingpins 6 Monarchs 4
With only 1 match scheduled and the mercury falling, it was a chilly evening at the centre for Kingpins and Monarchs. However a close match ensued with several high quality rallies to warm things up.
After meekly conceding the first 3 matches, things were looking grim for Kingpins when they found themselves 2-0 down in the doubles. From that low point, Dave and Julian dragged it back to 2-2 against Nigel and Tomek before securing the win 13-11 in the 5th.
Julian then beat Nigel before Tomek restored a 2 game lead for Monarchs by beating Mark. After that it was Kingpins all the way. Dave beat Martin in 4 ends before Julian went 2-0 up against Tomek, was then dragged back to 2-2, finally edging home 11-8 in the decider. With the match at 4-4, Dave beat Nigel in 4 leaving the stage clear for Mark to complete a come from behind victory with a 3-0 win over Martin.
Even though there were only two 5 enders, the closeness of the match overall meant no one won all 3, but everyone won at least 1.
