Milton Keynes Shambles 0 - 10 Mursley Swallows
Mursley Swallows entered this match after three narrow defeats in their first three matches, but fortune favoured them, here, as Milton Keynes Shambles did not have their strongest line up. Martin Johnson got the ball rolling for the visitors against Dave Wicks, three straight, although the first two games were close. Swallows' captain, Peter Sear then made quick work of Ben Nightingale, and reserve Mervyn Phillips did likewise against Jim Robinson. Peter and Mervyn joined forces against Jim and Dave, and although the home team took one leg, it was still one way traffic as the visitors regrouped to easily win in four. Ben took one leg against Martin, but it was another loss in four, whilst Mervyn took another three straight win versus Dave. Jim gave Peter a bit of a battle, but it still ended up another loss in four. Mervyn completed a Player of the Match performance as he cruised through against Ben, whilst Martin beat Jim and Peter beat Dave in slightly closer sets, but in the end, Mursley took the full ten points.
