Titans move clear on a wild Wednesday in Kingston!
What a night for you Titans fans…..
The three league contenders, Spinners, Monarchs and Titans were all down at MK Centre last night.
Titans hosting a Leighton Buzzard team of Hakan, Tim and playing up from Division 1, Mateusz Browarnik.
The usual three for Titans with Nick, Guy and Craig.
Tim got LB off to the dream start against Guy. Comfortably winning the first 2 ends, but being pegged back in the next 2, he managed to change it up just enough to crawl over the line and get LB on the scoreboard.
It looked like there was more success around the corner as Hakan and Craig shared 2 sets each in a very tense match. But it was Brown who got revenge on the LB captain, a man who took away Craigs unbeaten streak at the start of the year.
Nick and Mateusz finally got on the table at what felt like 9pm for match 3….. The big hitting LB player not quite connecting with enough to fall to a 3-1 loss.
The doubles a more straightforward affair for the Titans, as Nick and Craig beat Hakan and Tim for the loss of just 14 points.
Guy and Mateusz went the same way as Howard’s match - A 3-1 win to the Titan, but some impressive stuff from the Division 1 player.
It wasn’t to be Hakan’s night as he lost to Howard in 4 ends, having had the better of the Titans captain for the last year or so. An under par performance from Hakan rather than anything special from Howard.
Craig saw off both Mateusz and Tim in 3 for his hat-trick whilst Howard beat Tim in 4, including some exhibition lobbing (where Howard won 1 of about 10 points…..)
Which left Hakan and Guy to battle it out at the end.
Guy burst into life for the first time in a few weeks as he rattled off big winners and controlled aggression in the 3-1 win - An excellent performance from the Titan.
Which gave Titans a consecutive 9-1 win against a very good side two weeks on the bounce.
To make things even sweeter, Spinners produced a stunning display to beat a stacked Monarchs team of (Dave Tiplady, Alex Meade and Martin Hall), 7-3.
That leaves Titans 15 points clear of Spinners (same matches played) and 19 points clear of Monarchs who have a game against Sasaki in hand.
