Milton Keynes Tornadoes stood one position and point ahead of Murseley Swallows, prior to their match. Swallows were without the in-form Roger Shelton, and Tornadoes were soon forging ahead. Tanmay Tijare recovered from just losing the opening game to Peter Sear, to win in four, then Charlie Gray came through three close games to beat Gerry O'Dell. Nicholas Wong went two games down to Martin Johnson, but pulled back in fine style to even it up, and was even leading in the decider, but Martin tightened his defences just in time, and edged through in five to put Swallows on the scoresheet. However, Tornadoes kept going well, and rolled out the next four sets for the loss of just one game, to go 6-1 up. A mini fight back by Swallows saw Martin edge out Charlie in the first two legs, before running away with the third, to hand Charlie just his second defeat of the season, whilst Peter battled through to win in three very tight games against Nicholas, to bring the score back to 6-3. However, Tornadoes finally won 7-3, as Player of the Match Tanmay took a maximum, as he beat Gerry in four games, to seal Tornadoes place in the top half of the table, and end Swallows run of two wins!
