Mursley Swallows 3 - 7 Greenleys Glory
Greenleys Glory move, at least temporarily, to the top of the Division, with their 7-3 win at Mursley Village Hall, and this despite only having two players, but their pair of Jacob Midson and Scott Dixon were not to be denied. Jacob was first on, and dropped the first leg to some good hitting from Martin Johnson, but levelled at one all. Jacob soon found himself 8-3 down in both legs 3 and 4, however with some good looping of his own, managed to edge them both, at 14-12 and 11-9, to secure a narrow win. Scott followed up with a straight sets win over John Paul, with some accurate loops and hits. Games went out of order at this point, due to no third player, but it made no difference as Jacob accounted for Peter Sear, three straight. The doubles followed, with Swallows fast out of the blocks to go one up, only to be demolished 11-0 in the 2nd leg! Three very tight legs then followed, with Swallows taking leg 3 at 12-10, before the Glory boys just won out with two 11-9 legs, to go into the overall lead on the night. Martin then got to one leg all against Scott, but no further, as Scott kept up the accurate and spinny returns. John fared no better against Jacob, who completed hs maximum, followed by Scott playing Peter. Peter pushed his way to a fifth leg, only for Scott to power through the final leg to complete the victory.
