PREMIER ROUND-UP WEEK 9
GENERATIONS HIT SECOND SPOT
A comfortable ride for champions MK Titans this week when dispatching clubmates Topspin in a top v bottom clash. Even the inclusion of 80% Div 1 man Mervyn Philips alongside regulars Russell Penn and Mervyn Kelly made no difference to the one-way traffic in a whitewash victory for the runaway leaders. The Titan trio of Nick Howard, Craig Brown and Ricky Taiwo now hold a massive 20 point lead over their nearest rivals.
Leighton Buzzard Generations move into 2nd place despite picking up a mere 3 points at Greenleys Glory. Biao bagged a brace and Tim Cheek one on their visit to Wolverton, leaving Generations' Div 1 sub Fabrice Spelta winless on the night. For the home boys it was a case of another hat-trick for Ian Mead, with a brace from Jacob Midson and one form Saish Prabhu.
Former champions MK Spinners are on a roll now after their awful start to the season and dispatched Greenleys Monarchs 9-1, which must be their biggest ever win over their one-time traditional title rivals. The blackwash was saved in the penultimate set by Tomek Nowakowski with a 5-game win over Ade Odetayo. Hat-tricks here for Alan Cherry and Jecu Aurelian and zeros for Martin Hall and Dave Beddall. The two âin form' sides, Spinners and Titans, meet on Wednesday for what should prove to be an exciting contest.
Greenleys Warriors didn't play again this week, having arranged to postpone their match against open University Primes to a later date.
